Skin Cancer Screening – Terms and Conditions
Spotscreen provides primary skin cancer screening assessments following accredited Australian and International Standards of Practice, with Practitioners having accredited qualifications in primary skin cancer assessment and/or Dermoscopy. This is not a medical examination or medical test and does not offer any medical advice, diagnosis or treatment, and does not identify or assess any other pre-existing, current or potential health issue you may have.
The purpose of skin cancer screening is to identify those lesions with clues evident of suspicious changes; and to where these are identified, to refer you to your own medical professional for review and diagnosis. You must advise the practitioner of any skin changes or symptoms you are currently or have previously experienced.
Because skin cancer can develop rapidly, the onus is on you to see your Doctor within the time frame recommended by the Practitioner. Due the nature of skin cancer, not all lesions examined at the time of your skin assessments may demonstrate suspicious signs or symptoms, therefore a possibility remains that an existing, or new lesion can develop suspicious changes within a month of your assessment.
The Practitioner will educate you on the signs and symptoms of skin cancer and advise you to check your own skin for any suspicious clues once a month, and to see your GP within a week of noticing changes.
