Melanoma Rates Increasing in U.S. Youth

Melanoma figures in the United States indicate that the aggressive and deadly skin cancer is on the rise in the U.S. youth.

While the disease is still relatively rare in children, rates have increased at a rate of 2 percent per year from 1973 to 2009 in newborns to those aged 19.
